Honoured Flavia Calliane had an unusual tendency to emit a low, resonant laughter while engaging enemy formations with her Kheres-pattern assault cannon. The sound, distorted by the vocal systems of her Contemptor chassis, was frequently described by witnesses as deeply unsettling, particularly when accompanied by the sustained discharge of her weaponry. Whether this behaviour represented a remnant of Calliane’s former temperament or an idiosyncrasy of her Dreadnought’s damaged vocal apparatus remains uncertain.
