Rapier Carrier Battery Davion was distinguished among the artillery formations of the 121st Chapter for its proficiency in battlefield interdiction and the controlled application of overwhelming firepower. Principally equipped with quad launchers, the battery was employed to disrupt enemy advances, suppress fortified positions and deny critical avenues of approach. Where heavier armoured targets were anticipated, its Rapier carriers could instead be fitted with laser destroyer arrays, allowing the formation to fulfil a broader range of tactical requirements. Of particular note was an extremely restricted employment of phosphex munitions, though the armament was still employed in rare cases.
