The Fangs of the Night-Dark are a loose, uneasy pack of Skaven bound together less by loyalty and more by shared opportunity — each one chasing Wyrdstone, power, or personal survival in the ruins of Mordheim. At their center, Skritch drives them forward through fear and ambition, not because they trust him, but because following his trail of violence seems more profitable than turning on him — at least for now. Beneath that fragile structure, every member is already planning their own rise or escape, hoarding secrets, power, or resources in preparation for the inevitable betrayal that defines Skaven life.

ASSASSIN ADEPT
Skritch Deathwhisper doesn’t crave territory or command — he wants reputation. In the treacherous world of Skaven, the most valuable thing an assassin can possess is a name whispered in fear. By slaughtering enemies and rivals across Mordheim, he intends to become the rat whose blade everyone fears, ensuring that betrayal always favors him first.
ESHIN SORCEROR
Once apprenticed to a cruel warlock, Vretchik Warp-Eye devoured forbidden scraps of warp-lore until his master vanished mysteriously in a burst of green fire. Now he follows Skritch not out of loyalty, but because the assassin’s trail of blood leads ever deeper toward the wyrdstone he craves.
BLACK SKAVEN
Snivven Spinebreaker earned his name by crushing a rival’s spine with a single blow during a clan brawl beneath the Under-Empire. He follows Skritch only because the assassin has not yet proven weak enough to kill-kill.
Krazzik Doomfang’s jagged fangs are said to be filed from the bones of enemies he has devoured. A creature of brutal cunning, he delights in the carnage of Mordheim — but quietly counts every moment when Skritch’s back is turned.
Vratch Gutrend hoards scraps of armor and broken blades, convinced that every piece he claims makes him harder to kill-kill. He follows Skritch not out of loyalty, but because the assassin draws stronger enemies — and better trophies. One day, he intends to wear enough of them that no blade can find his flesh.
Krizzik Vilechitter never stops talking — whispers, threats, half-formed schemes spilling constantly from his jaws. Most ignore him, but those who don’t tend to die soon after, their secrets already sold-sold. He stays close to Skritch, hoping to be the first to hear the moment weakness enters the assassin’s voice.

NIGHT RUNNERS
Though young and scrawny, Rikkit Slipshadow has a thief’s instinct for treasure. Every shard of wyrdstone he finds disappears briefly before reaching the warband’s pile — tucked away in hidden pouches for the day he must flee the inevitable Skaven betrayal.
Ziznik Quickclaw prides himself on never being seen until it is far too late. He trails Skritch through the ruins like a shadow, memorizing the assassin’s tricks so that when the moment comes, the student may become the killer.
Zarkit Nightpaw moves with unsettling patience for one so young, content to watch others spring traps before choosing his own path. He is learning that survival is not about speed, but timing. When he finally strikes, it is always when escape is already assured.
Snikrit Ghosttail leaves no tracks where others would swear something passed. He delights in moving unseen even among his own kind, stealing from the warband just to prove he can. One day, he plans to vanish entirely — taking more than just wyrdstone with him.
Tikrit Darksneak thrives in the moments between torchlight, where shapes blur and certainty fades. He prefers targets who never realize they were hunted, only that something has gone terribly wrong. To him, the clean kill is not the quickest — but the quietest.

verminkin
Skrut, Vrizz, Skarn, Zrik, Kritt are the ones with swords.
Drik, Varn, Skrit, and Threk are the ones with spears.
Besides that method of group identification, their leaders can’t always tell them apart — and why would they need to? They just squeak-shout their commands at the group and expect to see them obeyed.

GIANT RATS
The Fangs of the Night-Dark includes Giant Rats, including Gnawmaw, Scabhide, Mangetail, Splitjaw, Crookspine, Rotbite, Grimchew, Tornhide, and Slinkgut, and every skittering shadow in the night heralds even more.

RAT OGRE
Skarrg Skullcrusher is less a warrior and more a weapon pointed with his front towards the enemy — until it isn’t. Chains and prods guide him forward, but even they fail when the scent of blood grows too strong. The warband fears him almost as much as their enemies do.
